I’d really like to know where they got this one
So I’m heading to the game tonight, and pull up behind a Mercedes (sp?) at the light. It’s a nice looking car, but it’s name surprised me. Imagine driving around in a Benz “Kompressor”! For some reason, this car doesn’t strike me as very safe. I’m sorry, but I don’t want to be compressed by any vehicle, much less the one I own! “This car is the Kompressor”. The marketing campaign seems like it would be tough also. What were the Car-name thinkers….ah…..thinking when they came up with this one?! If anyone has a good explanation for this, I’d love to hear it.
Side note: How cool would it be to get paid to name cars! There has got to be someone that has that job. There are paid ice cream taste-testers, I saw it on TV. (Rock solid dependable information right there.) So you know there has to be a car-naming guy.
ooh ooh, you could like invent a “car naming system” like… the name of a mythological creature, you’re favorite number, a call sign and something that sounds like it could represent speed, you’d come up with something like
Centaur7FoxtrotSwoosh
or
Naiad12CharlieZoom
maybe these are too long how about just a call sign and a number
Echo3, Bravo6, …cant remember any other call signs. You get the picture, do I get the job?
Actually, kompressor means supercharged in German (as you know Mercedes Benz is a German company) and it also means that the car has a 4 cylinder engine. So they didnt name it kompressor for no reason at all….
oh and if you would like to know more about the naming system of Mercedes Benz’s just contact me or Ross 🙂
