Life recently
Well, I guess it’s been long enough. I’ll update now. For some reason I always feel the need to catch everyone up on EVERYTHING that has happened since my last post. It’s not like that is necessary. Let’s see, what are the current happenings?
Saturday we went to get a nice, very little used, baby bed from the sister of a friend. She and her husband were not going to have more children and were willing to give us their old bed. When we got there, they had pulled out all their old baby stuff, including stroller, ultra-fancy/modern play pen, high chair, baby swing, booster seat, “play-station” (not the Sony kind, the baby kind), plus the afore mentioned baby bed. Here is a picture:
I have finally figured out how to record my sermons into digital format. I think I will start uploading them more often. I use a program called “Audacity” which is very basic but does what I need it to. I’m considering trying the trial version of a program called “GoldWave.” My brother uses G.W. and likes it a lot. Any one have any tips on the significant differences and/or pros & cons? Here is yesterday’s sermon, plus links to the notes from previous weeks:

Free Disciples (Powerful and Profound)
Apostles on Prayer (Interesting and Challenging)
Divorce & Remarriage (Important and Controversial)
Anna is getting bigger. She is in the “especially cute” stage. Just starting it really. I’ve been able to feel the baby move on many occasions and I love it! The midwife said last week that the baby definitely has “an opinion” because while she was getting a heart beat the baby was pushing and kicking at the doppler “intrusion” into his/her little world.
A turtle laid eggs (we think) in our back yard. She was definitely doing something strange. She dug a big hole, and the next day we found it covered up and the turtle gone. Here are couple good shots I got of her:
We also went to visit a nice older couple in South Carolina, affectionately known as “Pastor” & “Mrs. Myrt”. They were the minister and minister’s wife for Anna’s family when they lived in Germany. (Yes, Anna is a former Army “Angel”. Who says they have to be “brats”?) They have had a very good influence on Anna and she loves them dearly. I was pleased to meet them and let them approve of me. A couple pictures:
I gotta go. Those are the most interesting things lately. Hopefully I’ll get more disciplined (another thing I’m working on) about posting my life on the net for all to see.
So neat about all the baby things. Isn’t God good! I’m praying for the rest of y’alls pregnancy! Take care! In His love,Ashlee
YEA!!! another post. And a good one at that. I can’t tell you pros and cons for Audacity. Goldwave is what I’ve been using because I learned it first. The only con to the trial version is that they keep a “counter” going and you have 150 button pushes to change your song. Not a big deal. You have to be doing a fare amount of editing to get up to 150 clicks and it resets after you restart the program anyway. The only thing that happens when you don’t restart the program is that you get a message popping up every time you click a button saying you need to restart. Easy to save and come back if you need to. Sounds good to me. Ok… time to eat!
Thank the Lord for His provision! I’m so excited for you guys! A and I are “dog-cat-fish-and-turtle sitting” for our neighbors so your turtle pictures are of some interest. The 3rd one is especially interesting – but his countenance doesn’t look very happy! Love & blessings to you guys (with the special salute), Momma D
glad to hear that things are going well, jrod.
Hey Jarod, glad that things are going well for you and Anna… nothing better than free stuff!!! Love you guys!
yay!!! I’ve been thinking about it and, I’m getting VERY EXCITED!!!! Hooray!
Aunt Nasia :o)
Ah, so good to hear the latest news and see pictures of sweet Anna! Pregnancy looks good on her.
Keep us posted on the turtle eggs!
Where in Germany was Anna’s family stationed? We were in Munich and Garmisch, and I have quite a few pics from Heidleberg in Sept 06 if she’s looking for a walk down memory lane 🙂 Sounds like you’re quite well set for the baby for the big things – how exciting! Aare you registered anywhere for the other things you’ll need?
Good stuff Jarod! Way to be 🙂 It’s late, I’m tired, and there are people who want me to play games so I’m not going to think of any longer of a comment… 🙂 hehe. Love you!!!
Laura
Jarod, brother! Good to hear some news. Praise the Lord for His provision and good times. Rejoicing with ya!
Wow! Talk about hitting the jackpot – but in a good way..the “baby things you need” jackpot! Nothing beats FREE!!!
I’m so glad y’all got to go see Pastor and Mrs. Myrt! They are some of the nicest people we have ever met. They opened up their home to us like we had known them for years when we visited them taking Anna up there years ago. I know your going up there was a super blessing to them (and to Anna)! Take care!
This popped up in my inbox….I’m sorry to say that I’d forgotten your blogsite, completely…..Don’t feel bad though – I have several blogs and have also forgotten my name and password in those.
I enjoyed the pictures of Anna and (?).
Uncle Gary
So nice for Anna and you to get together with Pastor and Mrs. Myrt. These are invaluable treasures of life.
And thanks for the updates on my grandson in the baby development chart, and with the other pics. Love you both. Daddio
