When you remove the most important ingredient…
……chaos is the result. With all due respect to the families and friends of those that were lost at the Virginia Tech massacre on Monday, and without wanting to be unkind or without compassion toward those that are suffering, please consider these verses from Romans. They seem to be appropriate.
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. (Romans 1:28-32)
I highlighted the portions that I believe apply accurately to the VT shooter.
I only have one other thing to say. This passage illustrates that the tragedy of the VT killings (and it was a tragedy) are only the natural and expected result of a people that remove God from their society. Evolution, Humanism, Atheism, and other Godless teachings only bring us to this natural outcome. May God have mercy upon our land!
True words Jarod. While I don’t think we should blame anyone but the shooter (a lot of people are trying to blame teachers and other school officials) it is true that when we take God out of the picture life has no value.
There are a lot of VT fans around here these days. People are showing their support. If I had something VT I would probably show my support myself.
Talk to you later Jarod….. Looking forward to Sunday.
Hi Jarod! During a a similiar discussion with a couple of moms at the gym I mentioned that we had no reason for being surprised at this tragedy. When babies are randomly killed at will, people are purposesly starved to death and those who have outlived their “usefulness” are looked at as a burden, why should we be surprised at the thoughtless killings? My heart has been especially grieved for the killer’s parents. Thanks for your reminder.
Too true
